is as delicate and refined as the furniture. One of the
special features of the hotel is the shadow play, complete
with handcrafted puppets, performed by a sixty-seven-year-
old, seventh generation master. Fan Zengguang, from Nan
Liang village of Pingyao, manages the physical therapy
department. Using ancient and specialized techniques, he
can cure discomfort or help one to maintain good health.
